The Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 5K & 1K Kid Dash is a Family Fun Run supporting U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal on the Saturday following Earth Day. Listen to live music, enjoy Fogo Azul as you cross the finish and learn about a Green New Deal. The course will take you on 3 laps along the water on Shore Blvd in at Astoria Park in Queens. You'll run between two majestic bridges on a route that is easy, flat and fast.
All participants are guaranteed a limited edition Green New Deal 5K Race Shirt. Registration by April 21 guarantees that your shirt will be available on race day. Participants who register after April 21 may receive their shirt via U.S. mail following the race. This is a fun run. A race clock will be in use for reference. This is not an officially time event so track your own time and have a blast.
Use mass transit when possible. The N / W, Q100 & Q69, and NYC Ferry are all nearby. Two Citi Bike docking stations are also located at Astoria Park. Free parking is available on site. Please carpool if driving.
Come and enjoy the beauty of New York's 14th Congressional District. This event will comply with the City of New York Parks and Recreation GREEN EVENT GUIDELINES.
Location: Astoria Park, Queens starting on the Great Lawn near Shore Blvd between the two bridges.
Registration fees are contributions to AOC for Congress, and have the general contribution rules.
